How to Setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

At StumpTown MSP, we strongly recommend enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA adds a second step to the login processes, requiring both your password & a code from a secure app, making it significantly harder for unauthorized users to access your accounts — even if your password is compromised.

🧰 1. Download & Install an Authenticator App:
You’ll need an authenticator app installed on your mobile device. We recommend one of the following trusted options:
Google Authenticator (iOS)
Google Authenticator (Android)
📱 Tip: Download the app directly from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store to avoid fake versions.

🔧 2. Access Your Email Security Settings:
• Log in to your Microsoft 365 / Outlook Web Access at https://outlook.office.com
• Click your profile icon (top-right corner) → View Account
• Navigate to Security Info → Select Add Method.
• Choose Authenticator App from the dropdown & click Add.

🔧 3. Access Your Support Requests Security Settings:
Log in to your StumpTown MSP Client Support Portal at
https://stumptownmsp.rmmservices.net

✅ 4. Confirm & Finish Setup:
• On your computer, click Next after scanning the QR code.
• Enter the 6-digit code from your app when prompted.
• Click Next or Done to finish setup.

You're all set! MFA is now enabled for your protection, & you’ll be prompted for a code whenever you sign in from a new device or browser.
