Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Applies to all clients, end users, & staff of StumpTown MSP

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the standards & restrictions for using systems, networks, services, & support provided by StumpTown MSP, a division of Big B Managed Services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy.

1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
• Protect the integrity, security, & availability of technology services managed by StumpTown MSP.
• Prevent misuse of IT resources & network infrastructure.
• Define acceptable & unacceptable behaviors across client environments.

2. Scope
This policy applies to all:
• Clients & their employees, contractors, & partners.
• Devices connected to networks managed or supported by StumpTown MSP.
• Systems, cloud services, & applications under StumpTown MSP's care.
• Communications with StumpTown MSP staff & support systems.

3. Acceptable Use
The following uses are considered acceptable:
• Business-related use of systems, software, cloud services, & network infrastructure.
• Secure access using unique user credentials & MFA where applicable.
• Responsible use of internet access & email in accordance with your organization's policies.
• Prompt reporting of suspected cybersecurity threats or vulnerabilities to StumpTown MSP.
• Cooperation with StumpTown MSP personnel during onboarding, support, audits, or incident response.

4. Prohibited Use
You may not use any systems or services managed by StumpTown MSP to:
• Violate any local, state, or federal law.
• Transmit or store illegal, harmful, or offensive content.
• Gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts.
• Install unapproved software or bypass security controls.
• Engage in phishing, spamming, spoofing, or malware distribution.
• Share login credentials, MFA devices, or security tokens.
• Interfere with or degrade the performance of networks or hosted applications.
• Circumvent monitoring, filtering, or logging systems.
• Use client infrastructure for personal gain or unauthorized third-party services.

5. Security Requirements
Users are expected to:
• Use strong, unique passwords & update them regularly.
• Lock workstations & devices when unattended.
• Avoid connecting to unsecured public networks when accessing sensitive resources.
• Notify StumpTown MSP immediately if a device is lost, stolen, or compromised.

6. Monitoring & Enforcement
StumpTown MSP reserves the right to:
• Monitor systems, networks, & communications for security & operational integrity.
• Suspend access to any system or service suspected of abuse or compromise.
• Cooperate with legal authorities during investigations involving unlawful use.
• Revoke support or terminate services if this policy is repeatedly or severely violated.

7. Reporting Violations

8. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically. Clients will be notified of significant changes via email or portal notifications. The latest version is always available upon request or through this website.
